  • You can fly from Kuala Lumpur to either Kota Bharu or Kuala Terengganu. It’s a one hour flight either way.
  • Malaysia Airlines, AirAsia, Malindo and Firefly all have flights from Kuala Lumpur.
  • After landing, you can take a taxi to the Kuala Besut Jetty. It’s about one hour from Kota Bharu, or one and a half hour from Kuala Terengganu.

By Bus

  • This is a cheaper alternative to flying, but takes significantly more time.
  • It takes about 8 hours to get from Kuala Lumpur too Kuala Besut by bus.
  • If you reach Kuala Besut after 4pm, you will most likely have to spend the night there and take a boat to Perhentian in the morning.
  • You can book bus tickets online using websites such as CatchThatBus and EasyBook.

By Car

  • You can drive from Kuala Lumpur to to Kuala Besut Jetty (approx.7 hours drive) by following these directions:
  • Follow Highway MRR2 to Gombak Toll on Karak Highway
  • Continue with East Coast Expressway to Kuala Terengganu (Gemuruh) exit
  • Take the left exit to Sungai Tong, Hulu Caluk
  • Drive straight to AH18 to Kg Bukit Balai Jerteh
  • Turn right to T153 Kampung Kuala Besut , Kuala Besut Jetty

After reaching Kuala Besut Jetty, you need to take the boat to Perhentian Island

  • A two-way boat ticket will cost you about RM70. Drop us a message at if you would like us to book this for you.
  • You can also hire a private boat, but keep in mind that this will be significantly more expensive. It will cost RM400 or more.
  • Before getting on the boat, you will need to pay an environmental fee. The fee is RM5 for Malaysians and RM30 for foreigners.
  • Boats leave from Kuala Besut to Perhentian once an hour from 8am to 5pm.
  • To get back to Kuala Besut, you can take the boat from Perhentian at 8am, 12pm or 4pm.
  • The boat ride will take about 45 minutes.

What a brilliant team of people. We had our first ever dive and they took amazing care of us. Settled early nerves and took it slow and steady whilst ensuring we had a brilliant experience. We will be back!!

  2. henkw1975

Staff professional helpful and always friendly. Great team. I had a great time even thought visibility was terrible at the time of my visit

I met two good instructors and friendly team members at quiver:1. Richard (2019) : He was guiding me what I must do and what must not to do. He is very strict but he always remind me he is there, don’t be nervous, keep slow and continuously. Well, I was not adapt to dive last time, because of the nose, eyes, heels, balancing, and a lot. But luckily he is very focus on safety, even you always forgot to deflate, and make ascend fly too fast, he will immediately pull you down and give you a safety stop with him. He teaching us on how to plan our next dive, how to calculate the nitrox, max depth and time. Habitual action : flip his mouth to either left or right side and make sounds “bab” while we’re doing discussion or chatting.Unfortunately I was sick on my second day last time, so I have to reschedule next dive without charges except dorm fees.2. Santiago (2020) : He is an excellent PPB and navigation instructor. Teaching me how to make longer streamline or stop at anywhere anytime without kicking the fins, without moving the hands. I would say it’s damn hard for the beginners, but he give me a very very professional example that motivate me. Once I’m trying to stop and looking on something he show me…I will follow the water flow and stick too close with him…He will need to push me away without any choices because I had used the tank kick off his head before, used the fins slap his face many times while searching him. I have use double air supply compare with him, seriously I have a lot of space to improve myself. The great things is he found my fault, solve my problem, give me suggestion, and teach me all the skills. He is more on theory, he always let me know why I need to do, how I can do, and what will cause if I can’t make it. His Mantra : “make sense?” “You have to think every time before you do anything.” He will just let you try again and again, from shallow to deeper, no matter how long you need to find the right way to do it right, he will keep waiting you and explain to you how to be better. He will give you a very big confident like “You’re good. But you still not perfect today, I think you can do, that’s why I want you to be perfect.” I really really enjoy his lessons and teaching methods, no matter how painful on my heels, or sleepless, or tired I will do all the homework within the said limit time to make sure I can go diving with him as well. And I realized that I done my OWD and AOW in just 4days with 9dives with him. Super compact and effectively. PS: his eyes is light blue color, super beautiful eyes + long eyebrow. I fall in love with his eyes~3. Mike (2019-2020) : My helpful photographer and buddy, he take care of me a lot.Thank you to my lovely instructors, photographers and friendly quiver dive team members.I love diving now.
